Estate shipping, handled by people who do this every day
If you are reading this, you may be sitting at your mom's kitchen table with a list of names and a house full of memories. Maybe you're the executor, maybe you're the sibling who lives closest, or maybe you're trying to manage all of it from another state. We want you to know that this part does not have to fall on your shoulders.
Senior Assist Shipping grew out of our packing and shipping stores, where many of our customers were seniors and their families. Over time we learned what families need when a parent moves into assisted living or passes away, and we built our service around it. We are based in West Palm Beach and work with families, estate executors, attorneys, real estate agents, personal representatives, senior move managers, and organizers.
What our estate shipping service includes
Every estate is different, so we start by listening. Our service typically includes:
- A no-cost meeting to talk through what you want to accomplish and how we can help.
- A personalized quote for securely packing and safely shipping your items.
- Pickup of the items you've chosen from your parent's home, condo, or residence.
- Sorting items by recipient so each family member's things stay together.
- Careful packing suited to each item, from a single teacup to a dining room set.
- Shipping and delivery arrangements to each destination, nationwide or worldwide.
Big or small, we can ship it
Some families need a few boxes of photo albums and jewelry sent to a grandchild. Others need a bedroom set going to Texas, a painting going to New York, and china going to a daughter in California. We handle both, and everything in between. If you're not sure whether something is worth shipping, or how it should be shipped, ask us. Giving honest advice on how best to handle what needs to get shipped is part of what we do.
Common estate items we pack and ship include furniture, antiques and artwork, china and glassware, lamps and décor, collections, and keepsakes, photos, and small personal items.
Sending items to several family members
Estate distribution often means one pickup and many destinations. Tell us which items go to whom, and we'll put together a plan so each person's share is packed and shipped to their own address. Learn more on our page about shipping estate items to multiple heirs.
When you can't be here in person
Many of the families we help live outside Florida. If that's you, start with a phone call. We'll talk through what needs to happen and how we can help with as little travel as possible on your part. Our guide for out-of-state families explains what to have ready.
A gentle word about timing
Estate work often runs on deadlines you didn't choose: a closing date, a lease ending, a facility move-in day. Let us know your timing when you call, so we can plan around it from the start. The earlier we talk, the more options you usually have.
